What is a Chalk Shirt?

Whether you have a literary bent or an artistic flare, a Chalk Shirt is your avenue of expression.  You can "Express Yourself" with a chalk shirt.  It is the perfect way for you to say what you have always wanted to say.  ChalkShirtsTM has made a shirt that you can write on with regular chalk and erase with a dry  EraserPocketTM.  That means that you can write, erase and write again without having to wash your shirt or use a wet rag.  Our Chalk Shirt and  EraserPocketTM allow you to wear your thoughts or art wherever and whenever you want.
Chalk Shirts are perfect for events, parties and especially for self-expression.  They make perfect gifts for anybody and especially for those who are hard to buy for.  It is original, novel and intriguing.  Imagine the fun. Imagine the possibilities that a walking billboard might afford you or somebody you know.

The  ChalkShirtsTM  Chalk Shirt is different from any others that you might encounter.   ChalkShirtsTM  chalkboard is larger than any other, and that affords more room for expression.  Also the  ChalkShirtsTM  chalkboard can be erased with our dry EraserPocketTM  whereas, other chalkboard shirts require that you carry around a wet rag to erase the chalkboard.  Another wonderful thing about a  ChalkShirtsTM  Chalk Shirt is that it is affordable.  For a low price you get a Chalk ShirtEraserPocket and Chalk, all that you need for ultimate expression.

Since we use regular chalk, if you need replacement chalk you can get it anywhere.  Just go to you local office supply store and get a box of chalk for less than $2.  Be sure to get soft chalk.  I have found that PRANG chalk works the best.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and investigate.  Please come back often and please stop by our facebook page.

"Daily Chalk" - ChalkShirts In The Inlander

I know this is a little late but I just came across this yesterday.  Apparently last December ChalkShirts was written about in an article on what to buy a "Spoiled Brat" for Christmas.  Ha!  At least we know that ChalkShirts are good for something.  The shirt in this photo was one of our first models.  We now have the new "Splattered Paint" chalkboard.  It is much more stylish and is now available in our ChalkShirts Store or at Figpickels Toy Emporium on Sherman Ave. in CDA.

"Daily Chalk" - Memorial Day

Memorial Day

It's memorial day.  I am so thankful for all of those were willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom.  I had a grandpa who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-day.  Fortunately he was not one of the incredible number of casualties during World War II.  There were however, thousands of soldiers who did die in that battle and so many other battles.  I am thankful for the sacrifices they made and also the sacrifices their families made.  Freedom has not been cheap.  Thank you so much.

The "Daily Chalk" - OLD?

Old?

I had a very interesting conversation with two of my sons the other day.  They were listening to a tape of me "talking" with my dad back in 1979. (I was a year old.)  The date was mentioned at the beginning of the tape, "1979."

Son #1, very surprised, asks, "you were alive back then?"

I answer in the affirmative, "Yes I was,"

Son #1 in shock exclaims, "Wow, you were alive way back in the old days."

Son #2 chimes in with, "that was way back when Jesus was on earth."

Son #1 replies, "no, that was back in Bible times."  "Wow dad, you are old!"

Son #2 finishes up in agreement, "yeah!"

-

6 & 8 Year-old's perspective: "I am old."

My perspective: I am still the same person I was when I was 6 or 8.  "Old"
is ever changing and always beyond reach.  A form of
                          "Kick-the-Can" I suppose.

Happy Mother's Day - A day late. :-)

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers out there.  You are a wonderful blessing to all of us.   I can truthfully say that none of us would be where we are without you.  :-)   I hope that you had a good day and that all of your little or big blessings(children) blessed you.

By the way, I did remember to call my mom yesterday.

Have a great week everybody.  We are preparing to enjoy the sun that has finally arrived up here in the Northwest.  It looks like we may have spring after all.

The "Daily Chalk"

And the answer is, the Rhine River in Germany.
ChalkShirts is traveling the Globe.  If you have any pictures of ChalkShirts around anywhere please send them to  info@chalkshirts.com.  I would love to post them.

Can anybody guess where this picture was taken?

Here is clue #1, "the shoreline in the background is not American."
Clue # 2:  It is a river that does not flow directly into the Atlantic ocean or the Pacific ocean.
Clue # 3:  What do Yodeling, Sauerkraut, and the Netherlands have in common?
Clue #4:  Julias Caesar bridged and crossed this river in 53 and 55 BC.

If you know - post your answer.

The "Daily Chalk"

Ever been in a situation where you had an opinion but nobody asked for it? You were left voiceless.

How about this.  I was in Leavenworth listening to a Bavarian band yodel up a storm.  They were great!  I wasn't able to wait around till they were done to let them know how I felt, so I wrote it to them.

"Yodeling Rocks!"  Big smiles and a chuckle from the Base player.  Fun was had by all.

Enjoy your day!  Go make somebody smile.

Happy Customer!

ChalkShirtsTM went to the North Idaho Fair last year.  We had a blast and met some wonderful people.  Nancy was one of the Fan's at the fair and decided on the perfect gift for her family down south.  Here is a note from Nancy after her family opened their gift-shirts at Christmas.  Thank you Nancy!

Hi Nick!
The shirts you sent to California were a BIG HIT. They were just opened and they were loved by all. Attaching a pic so you could see. It reads: "We Got ... the coolest ... shirts ever ... from our ... FAN ... and GOUB". (I'm FAN [Favorite Aunt Nancy] and GOUB is Good Ol' Uncle Bill.)

I'm glad I ran into you at the Fair!

Regards,
Nancy

Read My Shirt! NO MORE SPENDING!!!

It looks like the political scene is heating up and last I checked, "Its all about the Economy . . . . . . ."    The polls are up and down like a roller-coaster and everybody has a solution.  Obama says $pend more and charge it.  Cain says its all about "9-9-9."  Romney says that he has a 59 step plan to solve our problems.  And Ron Paul is going to take a Trillion dollar butcher knife to DC.
One thing that I know. (By the way I am learning the hard way.)  We have to stop spending.  In 1988 H.W. Bush said, "Read my lips: no new taxes."  Well times have worsened, taxes or not, we have to stop spending.  So, my message to the country, the president, and all of the Republican candidates is this,
"READ MY SHIRT!  NO MORE $PENDING."
Read My Shirt!  No More $pending"

LET YOUR VOICE BE SEEN!  WEAR YOUR MESSAGE THIS ELECTION SEASON!
BUY A CHALKSHIRT!

ChalkShirts goes Multilingual

Here is the first installment of the Multilingual Series of posts.  Your Chalk Shirt can speak every language in the world.  It can even communicate without using words.  Chalk Shirts are useful across the globe for any occasion. Have something to say politically?  Want to cheer somebody up at work or at home?  Want to be the show at a party or provide fun for everyone around you?  Imagine the fun if there were more than one of you doodling around.  The sky is the limit.

One beautiful thing about the Chalk Shirt is that it has no borders and has no lingual boundaries.

Can you guess what language this is and what it says?  If so, leave a comment.

ChalkShirts Went To The Fair! - Updated

What a great time! What an adventure!
This was the first real outing for ChalkShirts.  We had loads of fun and met lots of people.

We did have a
Great entertainment.  Great food.  Great neighbors.  We enjoyed hanging out with every one down the strip.  The food was great, from the Mini Donuts to the Lamb burger, funnel cakes and monster dogs.  We also shared a wall with Silver Mountain Resort.  They were very enjoyable people to be with and the resort looks like a lot of fun year-round.  They offer skiing, tubing, hiking, biking and even surfing.

Fortunately, there was a great response to the Chalk Shirts.  We know that lots of people are now running around in our Chalk Shirts.  Some are even as far as Germany.  How cool!  It was a treat to meet so many people from all over.  Thank you.

Slim and Curly were a great addition to the Fair.  They stopped by several times to encourage us as I stood staring at the sun for hours doodling on my shirt.  They put a smile on everybody's faces.  We hope that they will be back next year to do it again.

Adam the Great was a great act. He was entertaining, very funny and a fabulous magician.  He took the time to stop by during his very busy schedule to check out the Chalk Shirts and give us our own act.  What a treat.

Thank you also to all of you who stopped by to encourage us.  We had so many friends and family stop by to say, "hi," chat and even to buy shirts.  We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

If you are in town, don't forget stop by Figpickels on Sherman in downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  They have been great partners! It is a terrific store if you ever want to see or buy truly unique toys.  They travel the world looking for awesome toys that nobody else has.

Have a great time and come back soon to see what else ChalkShirts is up to.
   See you soon.

ChalkShirts Goes to Leavenworth WA

Earlier this spring I went with my family to the Alpen town of Leavenworth

Downtown Leavenworth
What a neat town!  It was surrounded by beautiful mountains, had a gorgeous river running through it, a really neat downtown with lots of fun shops and restaurants, the Nutcracker Museum, and wonderful music in the town square.
I found many occasions to write on my Chalk Shirt.  One was while listening to the music.  I have always enjoyed Bavarian music and this group was not an exception.  They had great upbeat tunes and of course, "Yodeling," and I like yodeling.  Because I can write, erase & write again, I was perpetually changing the message or drawing on my shirt.  I the upright base player found it very amusing and I even got him laughing a couple of times.  As you can see below, one of the messages that I wrote was, "Yodeling Rocks!"

As Leavenworth has much to offer the traveler, we moved on and so did my message.  It now read, "Top of the morin' to you."  I was outside a shop waiting for my crew (family) to come out when a couple walked passed me.  They suddenly stopped, reversed course, looked closely at my shirt, then quizzically asked, "Didn't you have a shirt on that said "Yodeling Rocks!"?"  I erased "Top of the mornin'" and wrote "Yes."  They thought it was a kick, smiled big and went on to enjoy the rest of their day.

As you can imagine I had many other opportunities to brighten some body's day.  For instance, when we were at the Nutcracker Museum I was inspired to dawn a chalk drawing of  a nutcracker on my shirt.  Or when we were at the Gelato Store "Viadolde!" I wrote "I love Gelato."  It put a big smile on their face and the gentleman behind the counter asked if he could get "a shirt like that?"
"Yes, absolutely! Go to Chalkshirts.com."

We had a wonderful trip to Leavenworth and my Chalk Shirt got a lot of use.

Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions, or your Chalk Shirt story.

Thank you,
ChalkShirts
