Getting The Most Out Of Your Chalk Shirt.

Alright! Welcome the the Shirt-Writers Society. :-)

About your Chalk Shirt:
Your ChalkShirt comes to you New! Good thing. That does mean however that it is not broken in. There a little bumps on your chalkboard that will go away as you use it and wash it. Kind of like the rubber things on new bike tires. What I do to fast-forward the process, is to draw all over the chalkboard and then erase it. That will get you moving and smooth out your writing surface.

One really great thing about ChalkShirts TM chalk shirts is that the chalkboard is made SUPPER TOUGH. That means that you can wash it with all of your other clothes in the washer and then dry it with them as well. SUPER EASY CARE. You can actually wash it as much as you want. I have found that the more times that I throw it in the wash the better the writing surface gets. Crazy!

About your Chalk:
We use great chalk. It is actually chalk. Many chalk manufacturers put hardener and other minerals in their chalk to keep it from breaking. It works! It doesn't break. One problem, it doesn't write either. That is why we recommend Prang® Hygieia® Chalk. It is nice soft chalk that writes really well.

The manufacturer has coated the outside of the chalk to keep it from getting dust all over your hands. Very handy. :-) That edge doesn't write very well so we recommend rubbing the edge of the chalk on something like cardboard or a sheet of paper to get the anti-dust coating off of the writing edge of your chalk. Doing this will give you the optimal writing experience and vivid chalk writing. (I use a large pencil sharpener. The kind that you send to school with your kids.)

By the way, it doesn't take that long to get used to writing upside down. The payoff is terrific!
